Flooring

Bruce Hardwood Floors

bruce hardwood floorsBruce Hardwood brings more than a century of quality flooring. For over 100 years, our customers have trusted us to provide beautiful, long-lasting hardwood floors and stylish, durable laminate floors.

High quality floors start with high quality materials. Most of our hardwood volume is grown here in the U.S. in the Appalachian Mountain range. The wood harvested from this area is known for its clear grain, consistent color, and excellent stability.

Over 70% of our wood products are made from premium and select grade hardwood to ensure we produce floors with fewer streaks, knots, and flaws.

We focus on maximizing quality, not volume.

  • Our milling processes produce straighter, flatter boards that fit together precisely, with fewer gaps between boards.
  • Our high tech production lines ensure stain colors are consistent through every cycle.
  • Our finishing systems achieve the perfect balance between showing the beauty of the hardwood and protecting it from wear.
  • Our rigorous inspections, featuring up to 75 checkpoints, guarantee that each strip and plank of Bruce hardwood flooring has passed our highest quality standards.

Granite & Marble

granite and marble countertopsTough, durable and possessing a natural beauty, granite countertops, also known as worktops and work surfaces, and granite cabinets can compliment any contemporary or more traditional style of kitchen. Using granite and countertops? Granite is a natural stone, and is therefore subject to natural variations, offering a truly unique appearance. Uniformity can be achieved, however, so an overall look of color and texture can be achieved. Apart from the durability and natural look of granite, it remains cool in a way no other surface can, and is therefore of practical use in some cooking where ingredients are best kept cool, such as in baking.

Granite comes in a variety of colors from light greys and whites to darker shades, allowing it to be matched with any choice of flooring, décor and cabinets. Patterning is equally as varied, from almost plain to rich swirling patterns and speckling.

New granite countertops can be kept in the best condition by a little thought and care. For example, granite is prone to becoming scratched; but this can be easily avoided by using chopping boards placed on the granite countertop for cutting and chopping. Careful placement of kitchen utensils and hot pans will help prolong the life and maintain the beauty of your granite surfaces.

When thinking about the choice between granite or marble work surfaces, it is worth considering the kind of look you wish to achieve, the costs, and maintenance. Just as with granite, care needs to be taken when using marble worktops in order to ensure it retains its natural beauty and is not damaged.
Marble is softer than granite; it is also more porous and therefore more prone to becoming stained and damaged. Granite is formed from molten magma, and is therefore harder and less porous than marble. As it is harder, granite is less prone to being damaged or stained than marble is.

Granite is available in two different forms that influence the pattern obtained: Variegated granite has been subjected to movement during its formation, and the characteristic swirls and veins are of different colors to the rest of the stone. Each piece will be truly unique and whether the stone is used for work surfaces, granite cabinets or other uses each piece will be truly unique.

As may be expected, consistent granite possesses the same pattern throughout each slab and a more uniform consistency of overall look can be achieved; additionally, consistent granite slabs are also more easily joined together than variegated granite.

Granite and cabinets work beautifully together, whether you are seeking to achieve a traditional look or a contemporary one. The natural beauty of granite blends perfectly with either exposed or painted wood of all shades and grains. More contemporary high gloss lacquered and painted finishes can also work in harmony with granite.

The benefits of choosing granite are clear: its durability, cool feel, and ability to offer a variety of shades and patterns makes it the ideal choice to blend with either traditional or contemporary designs.

Interested in the latest LED technology? Looking to incorporate some of the newest energy-saving systems into your residence or commercial facility? Our unrivaled inventory and extensive resources ensure that we will get you what you need when you need it…at a competitive price.

Family owned. Independently operated. Locally run. But for us, that’s just a small part of it. We think high-tech, but we’re old-fashioned, too. In an era when customer service has become increasingly impersonal, we continue to hold fast to the values upon which we were founded: quality products are one thing, but it’s people that make the difference.

When you come to us, the focus is on you. In its third generation of family ownership, Dominion Electric offers the personalized attention, counsel and flexibility that you won’t receive at a big box store or online. Sure, we want to sell you product, but making a sale isn’t terribly interesting to us if you aren’t equipped with the knowledge you need to make the right purchasing decision. Overwhelmed by the prospect of lighting a large home? We’ll break it down for you. Searching for a classy selection for a small space? We’ll take the time to address all of your options. Faced with a lighting issue or electrical design challenge that’s particularly unusual? We thrive on devising creative, practical solutions that get the job done…and done exceptionally well.

We have the answers. Collectively, our highly trained team of certified lighting designers, showroom consultants, switchgear specialists and counter salespeople boast over 3500 total years of service. We have 153 employees with 10 years or more. Sound over the top? Perhaps, but it’s true. What’s more, we regularly invest in this vast knowledge base through continuing education: our team members are active participants in manufacturers’ training sessions, seminars, workshops and trade events, giving them constant insight on the latest technologies, product designs, upcoming trends and new developments. We may be old-fashioned about customer service. But our solutions are cutting-edge.

Plumbing Fixtures

Kohler

kohler plumbing fixturesOur company’s founder, John Michael Kohler, was an Austrian immigrant, a businessman and a visionary. In 1873 he purchased a foundry in rural Wisconsin that produced a variety of cast-iron and steel products.

Ten years later, Kohler took a product in his line, heated it to 1700°F and sprinkled it with enamel powder. Placing a picture of it in the center of his one-page catalog, he called it “a horse trough/hog scalder . . .  when furnished with four legs will serve as a bathtub.” Kohler was in the plumbing business. From those humble beginnings, our company has grown into a multifaceted global family of brands that lead the way to enhance our customers’ sense of gracious living.

Moen

moen plumbing fixturesOn a typical Seattle night in 1937, a young Al Moen was cleaning up after an evening of work when he went to wash his hands at an old-fashioned two-handle faucet. A sudden burst of hot water made him jump back in alarm and this moment of surprise turned out to be the inspiration for the single-handle faucet – an invention that would revolutionize plumbing. Al Moen turned a problem into a solution, and his commitment to finding a better way continues to be as important to Moen’s work now as it was to Al then.
